Cycle Brewing is an awesome brewery located in the heart of downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. The brewery is located in an old pharmacy and it still has the vintage charm of the honeycomb tile mixed with stunning natural wood tabletops and bar top. Obviously based on the name, there was a fun take on cycling throughout the brewery. The tap handles were old bike parts and there are bicycle parts incorporated throughout the furnishings and even cleverly inserted into the beer names. Walking in, there are some picnic tables outside so groups to enjoy the cool coastal evenings. The inside taproom has a long L-shaped bar and beer taps all along the back wall. The place is really cool and gives love to the locals by displaying and selling the works of local artists. The art is as unique as the beer and I absolutely loved the individuality of the place.

We got into St. Pete late so we only had time for a few beers before turning in for the night. In my typical fashion, I immediately went for the sourest thing in the place, which was the Cherry Electric Boots. This was a wonderful cherry lime sour bomb and did not disappoint me in the least.

My husband ordered the Cream/Sugar please, which is a great stout with an obvious essence of coffee. I only had a sip because I was really into my sour deliciousness, but I would definitely order the stout next time I am in town.

I opted for an IPA for my second beer and got the Crank IPA. The beer was hoppy and the prefect end for my long drive to St. Pete. I honestly wanted another of the Cherry Electric Boots, but I can’t go into a new place and just have one beer!

Cycle Brewing also offers crowlers, which are really great one-time-use can growlers. Keith and I both got crowlers before leaving Cycle Brewing and we enjoyed them the following day. These are perfect for people traveling because I did not need to haul a growler with me to bring home their beer. Another great place about Cycle Brewing is their local feel. I am a huge fan of supporting local business, and they fully embody the “keep it local” mentality. Cycle Brewing is a great place to visit while in St. Petersburg area and I will certainly make a trip back down soon so I can enjoy some more of their creative brews.
